How standup time calculator Works

Why daily is different

A weekly meeting's unfairness is 4 hours a month; a daily standup's is 20+ at the same slot. The compounding means standup scheduling deserves actual math: scan every UTC hour, score total burden, pick the minimum — then rotate with the second-best slot so the minimum's own bias does not calcify.

The two-slot rotation

Best and second-best slots (≥2 hours apart) alternate weekly — most teams find the pair splits the burden near-evenly. The pattern lives in the calendar as a recurring biweekly pair, visible to everyone, requiring zero renegotiation. The fairness is in the pattern, not in anyone's memory.

The async endgame

When the best slot still burdens 3+ hours total, the honest design is written standups (async, timezone-friendly) plus one live weekly sync rotated fairly. Most 3-zone teams land here eventually — not as a defeat, but as the version where nobody buys an alarm clock for someone else's convenience.
