How meeting time finder Works
How overlap is computed
Both zones' working hours (8–18 local) convert to UTC; the intersection is the natural meeting window. New York (UTC−5) and London (UTC+0) share 13:00–18:00 UTC — a 5-hour window. New York and Sydney share nothing — the distance where scheduling becomes diplomacy.
The fairness score
A window can exist and still be unfair: 8 am ET works with 2 pm London, but so does 5 pm ET with 11 pm London — and the second taxes one side entirely. Scoring each candidate by hours-bent-from-9-to-5 on both sides makes the trade explicit and the rotation designable.
Rotation patterns that work
Weekly alternation (early slot one week, late the next) splits the pain exactly. Monthly rotation suits lower-cadence meetings. The "always the same" meeting with a fixed victim is the pattern distributed teams quietly resent — the fairness math exists so the resentment can be engineered away.
